DDS/Server is a DDS-oriented OpenVME-based data server system, which provides a central access service for Fujitsu (ICL) DDS dictionaries.

The application code, which uses the service to access the dictionary, need not reside on the OpenVME system holding the dictionary. It need not even reside on an OpenVME system, but may be an MS-DOS or Unix application, for example.

DDS/Server therefore provides a simple procedural access interface for application code running under OpenVME or any other operating environment connected to the OpenVME system.
