History

Gresham is a well established international company that has been developing robust software and services capabilities in the transactional data management market for over 30 years. Here are just a few highlights of the Gresham story so far:

2010′s: Transaction and cash management. Gresham continues to build on its integrated transactional data management heritage, increasing its presence in customer sites and winning work through the development of new, customer driven, functionality focused on cash and transaction management. The company is restructured around customers and product and the management team is strengthened;

2000′s: Global cash and liquidity management. Gresham launched the Real-Time Nostro (“RTN”) service to major banks, helping them to manage liquidity and operational risks from management of their transactional data in real-time. Gresham became a corporate member of SWIFT and RTN provided data to user banks with a value exceeding $0.5 trillion per day. The experience of dealing with global banks and their transactional data management problems led Gresham to develop and deploy a series of related integrated software solutions to the banking community focused on the transactional data management of cash;

1990′s: Listed on the London Stock Exchange. Gresham expanded its mainframe skills to Open Systems and was a member of several select committees, including the prestigious X_Open standards committee as well as other Data Management working groups. We developed our own integration software to solve the interoperability issues between closed and open systems, enabling us to reach into Unix, Dec VAX and Distributed On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP). With an evolving banking pedigree, Gresham helped initiate the Real-Time Nostro working group of major global banks that went on to conceive and specify what the banking world now knows as Real-Time Nostro (“RTN”); a hosted software solution designed and operated by Gresham to this day, solving the banking transaction visibility issues faced by banks around the world;

1980′s: Industry leading software. Gresham started providing software systems for the International Computers Limited (ICL) proprietary VME mainframe platform, sold to governments, banks, local authorities and nationalised industries across the UK, Europe and former British colonies. Gresham developed the industry leading data management software products Altadata and DB/FastDump for VME, whilst also expanding into the world of transactional data processing with TP2900;

1970′s: Enters IT Business Services. Gresham extended and expanded its services to offer complete data management services, often as turnkey solutions to companies of increasing size. We entered the emerging IT Business Services arena, providing solutions based on transactional data management software;

1960′s: Founded 1969. Gresham started out in the ‘data-prep’ business, taking hand-written paper documents and creating punch card records of the transactional data for input into mainframe computers.
